Mrs. Christie Holly

Mrs. Christie Holly is the current appointed superintendent for the Tishomingo County Special Municipal Separate School District. This is her sixth year to serve in this capacity. Mrs. Holly began her education career at Hills Chapel School in Prentiss County as a seventh and eighth grade Language Arts teacher after her graduation from Mississippi State University with a B.S. degree in English Education in 1996. In 1999, she began teaching at Iuka Middle School in Tishomingo County in the same capacity. Mrs. Holly earned her National Board certification in 2002 in the area of Early Adolescent Generalist while teaching at IMS as well as completed her Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi in Educational Leadership in 2006. She was then hired as assistant principal at Iuka Middle School and served in that capacity for three years before becoming head principal of IMS. During her tenure of leadership, Iuka Middle School was a “B” rated school in Mississippi’s accountability system. In 2013, Mrs. Holly accepted the position of Director of Curriculum and Testing for the Tishomingo County School District. She served in that capacity for one year before her appointment as superintendent. The district earned its first ever “A” ranking under Mississippi’s accountability system under her leadership in 2018 and has maintained that ranking. She has participated in the Mississippi Department of Education’s Superintendent Academy (Cohort 3) and has served on Dr. Carey Wright’s Superintendent’s Advisory Council for four years. She also serves on the Northeast Mississippi Community College Board of Trustees, the Northeast Mississippi Education Consortium Board, and the Mississippi Association of School Superintendents (MASS) Board of Directors.
